83 Movie Review : It's an emotional ride that brings tears of joy and pride | Trendsfirst

Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐️ ½ [ 4.5 Stars ]

83 is one of the best theatrical experiences that brings life to one of the most celebrated and inspiring journeys of the Indian cricket team from underdogs to clinching the 83' world cup which sounds impossible to everyone. It's an emotional ride that brings tears of joy and pride throughout its duration and makes you feel the emotions of the whole nation.

The story of the film revolves around The 83' world cup journey of an underdog Indian team who did the unimaginable task of defeating the mighty west indies to win the world cup. The story has a huge potential of becoming a wonderful cinematic experience and Kabir khan grabs the opportunity with both hands and delivers a Masterpiece. The screenplay of the film is exceptional in that stays focused on its main topic and evokes various emotions like cheers, joy, applaud, claps, tears, laugh, etc quite comfortably. The comic punches of the film also work most of the time & define the relationship between players very well.

Ranveer Singh is just unrecognizable and delivers another knockout performance. Pankaj Tripathi is awesome as usual. Deepika Padukone has nothing much to do & she is good with whatever is given to her. Every supporting actor has done a wonderful job but Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jatin Sarna, and Jiiva are standout performers for me.

The songs of the film are decent and work fine in the narrative. Lehra do is best among the lot. BGM is good. Cinematography is brilliant. Few flaws are - some of the jokes don't land well & looks unnecessary, Few technicalities in showing cricket match on the ground, a few patches in VFX and the final match part looks Lil rushed ( especially bowling scenes ) and I was hoping to explore the strategic side of the game as well.

Overall, 83 is a nostalgic trip for those who witnessed the 83' world cup win, a chance of reliving those emotions and Moments for a newer generation, and a complete emotional ride to every emotional cricket fan. Cricket is very emotional to me and I never ever cried this much in any film in my life. if you fall in the same category then I advise you to take tissues with you in theatres.

It is a Must watch film for every Indian.
