Cyclone Jawad in Odisha and Digha: 
Cyclone Jawad is expected to hit the Bay of Bengal in the next 12 hours. The meteorological department said the deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal could reach somewhere between the coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and Orissa in the form of a cyclone on Saturday morning.
Storms with gusts of up to 80 to 100 kmph and strong winds can then turn north and northeast.

 Deep depression:

The depression formed near the Andaman Islands turned into a deep depression on Thursday. In the last six hours, it has started advancing towards the east coast at an average speed of 32 kmph.

According to the weather building, the deep depression was located deep in the Bay of Bengal on Friday morning. 570 km south and south-east of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, 60 km south and south-east of Gopalpur beach in Orissa, and 60 km south and south-west of the port of Paradip in Orissa.

The meteorological department has forecast strong winds and rains in Kolkata and South Bengal from next Saturday to Monday due to the ‘impact’ of Jawad. The two coastal districts of East Midnapore and South 24 Parganas are also prone to thunderstorms. All trawlers, boats, and boats that go to sea for fishing have been warned in this situation. Fishermen have been told to return to shore quickly. In order to prevent any damage to the crops in the storm, a campaign is being carried out to pick up the rabi grains quickly.
