Prime minister Narendra Modi's twitter account was hacked for a brief period on Sunday. A tweet by official account of Prime minister's office gave this information confirmed this news.
“The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured. In the brief period that the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored,” PMO India tweeted.
The account has now been restored and the tweets have been deleted.

In the brief period that the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored.
A tweet was posted from PM's hacked twitter account claiming "India has officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender."
"India has officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender. The government has officially bought 500 BTC and is distributing them to all residents of the country," the now-deleted tweet said.

In September 2020, the Twitter account linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website and mobile app was hacked by an unknown group.
Recently, the Twitter accounts of many famous personalities in America — from President Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Kanye West, Bill Gates to Elon Musk — were hacked to post the message: “Send Bitcoin and the famous people would send back double your money.”
